In the meantime the icons now displayed in Russian and Japanese can be viewed at http://www.asiandutyfreeadvisor.co.uk/ or at http://www.dutyfreeadvisor.ru/ the new Russian sister site for the "duty free on arrival" family.

The English speaking world calls duty-free shopping on arrival, "arrivals duty-free", but it is almost impossible to translate this directly to many other languages. In Spanish it is known as "Duty Free a la llegada" or "duty free al llegar", in Portuguese "Duty Free na chegada" or in French "Hors taxes à l'arrivée". For Chinese we are currently using "入境免税店" and Russian "беспошлинной по прибытии" but "Duty Free On Arrival" tends to be globally understood, albeit for this new and growing market.
Travelling shoppers can check where these "arrivals shopping" outlets are available in airports worldwide by clicking any of the links in this article. We will try to display our standard logos to represent to different pronunciation of the term.

The "arrivals duty free" market is only just beginning to flourish and is a reversal of old habits where duty-free was traditionally sold on departure and carried by travellers to their destination. Security, eco and convenience considerations are starting to change this practice and the influential duty-free trade publication The Moodie Report have just published a study related to this market which is being sold to the Industry.

This indicates how the Duty-Free industry is now seeing this market as a serious development.
For travelling shoppers, all this information is available free of charge at any of our websites and it is expected that the practice will grow as more countries change to arrivals shopping.
